Polypropylene (PP) is valued for its durability and sustainability, making it a popular material across many applications. In its natural state, though, PP is typically translucent or opaque. To improve its transparency, clarifiers are used. These additives reduce the size of the spherulites—semi-crystalline spherical structures within the polymer—allowing more light to pass through and minimizing haze. Unlike nucleating agents, clarifiers are transparent themselves, which further helps achieve clearer, brighter end products.
